Support Materials

Support Materials
Support materials are the unsung heroes that turn a pile of stone into a landscape that drains right, stays put, and is easy to maintain. Around here, that usually means three key items: edging, topsoil, and masonry sand.

Garden edging gives you clean, defined borders so rock, mulch, and turf each stay in their lane. Install it once along flower beds, walkways, and patios, and you cut way back on mulch washing into grass and gravel creeping into planting areas. It also makes mowing and trimming faster, because you're working to a clear, solid edge instead of chasing loose material.

Premium screened topsoil is the next layer. Use it to build out new beds, level low spots, or give tired lawns a fresh surface to root into. Because it's screened, you're not fighting rocks and clumps while you grade. That makes raking smoother and helps water infiltrate instead of ponding on the surface.

Masonry sand finishes out a lot of hardscape work. The fine, clean grains are ideal for mortar mixes, setting pavers, or bedding flagstone where you want a stable, level base that still drains. It also works as a top layer in joints around stone where regular fill dirt would just wash out.

When you plan a project with us, we don't just point you at the visible stone; we walk through what needs to go under and around it so the whole build holds up. Bring your measurements, a sketch, or a few photos, and we'll help you dial in the right mix of edging, topsoil, and sand - plus any rock or block you're using - so you can load once and get the job done efficiently.
